FIELD TRIPS

Each month throughout the year the club sponsors field trips as an opportunity for the membership to share their photographic activities together. Frequently the theme of the field trip will coincide with that of a recent meeting program. This allows members to work together sharing techniques or locations introduced during the presentation. Generally about 17 members attend. Previous field trips have included:

  • Painted Churches of Schulenburg area
  • San Antonio Zoo
  • Natural Bridge Caverns and Wildlife Preserve
  • Rockport-Fulton, TX
  • Confederate Air Force Fly in at San Marcos
  • Texas Wildflower field trips in season

In addition, twice a year the club holds a Photo Scavenger Hunt. This is an individual competition for creativity, technical quality and the ability to find/and interpret the assignment. These Hunts are also a field trip of sorts and as many as 22 members have participated. We try to find an interesting venue with lots of photographic opportunities. Previous hunts have been in

  • Bastrop, TX
  • Johnson City, TX
  • Salado, TX
  • Blanco, TX.
